This one was written with assistance by Meta AI with Llama 4. It was inspired by my recent visit to the Tallgrass Prairie Reserve in Kansas, USA. I wanted to create a film that captures a broad sense of space and has a lot of moving elements too. This was the perfect story for this.

The major challenge here was the gag that has the rider falling from horse and on to the back of a buffallo. It utilized failed prompts for images that were created with layered elements in GIMP and then edited to create the action.

The next challenge was the hat gag. It also require tedious setups for prompting.

This film also made me aware of Vozo's lipsyncing weaknesses. Characters with beards are problematic.  Vozo is regarded as one of the most accessible AI generators for lipsyncing, using their precision mode, this was the best I could generate. I decided to not even bother for the last 2 shots of dialogue.

The music was beautifully generated by Meta/music gen. It required a little cut and paste, but was easily accomplished. It hit the feel I was hoping to get. My memories of dramatic scores in the CinemaScope westerns of yesteryear.

This short was completed 2 weeks ahead of my weekly postings. I've been trying to get ahead by 2 weeks, so I haven't been listing the execution time for these shorts. On average they take 3 to 4 full days to create. The cost is averaging around 35 to 40 USD for each.

Meta AI is absolutely free on WhatsApp. The interactive conversations I have working out story details has been extremely more efficent than the Eskitor app.  This story was inspired from my personal experiences with heat and mosquitos while living and sometimes trying to sleep in Thailand. I wanted to try building a story with no music, just sound effects. I also wanted to try to have more control of my setting and how my character behaved. I wanted to create an actor that had more personality and realism. To help with this, I created a special character using OpenArt AI's character creation tool.
