This was written with Meta AI with Llama 4 and Chat AI 1.62 assistance. It's another installment in the AI theme. This is probably the most sinister I will portray AI. I'm actually very pro AI and excited by the future prospects.
I added a subscription to Chat AI because I was temporarily reduced in usage on Meta. I'm not entirely happy with it, but it does provide a different angle of approach at times from Meta that is refreshing. I have found that chatting about topics can develop a route to a story idea. Having both is good for this.
This film required adding a subscription to Leonardo AI. I'm mixed on the need for this, but I'm very impressed with the Motion 2.0 generator. It has been very useful for helping establish a set. Also, it has the best crane to eagle eye's view as well. I've been able to generate views that the other video generators cannot.
I rushed through this one. I don't feel like it's as polished as the last film. There wasn't really any particular challenge that I had in mind for this one. Generating the AI art was easy. Creating the quirky behavior of the artist was not difficult. I've found that creating personalities for my characters is very fun. I want them to feel alive. And it's fun to see characters spring to life in the creation process.
I think I spent more time getting the crowd under control. It was hard to mass them up to a painting and not just have them wander around.
I'll use this post to summarize my subscriptions and costs to date:
Eskritor (writing assistance) 39.95 a year (paid)
AI Chat 1.62- ChatBot AI Assistant (writing assistance) 39.95 a year (paid)
OpenArt AI (Image design, animation, character design, upscaling) 56.00 a month
ElevenLabs (Voice and sound effects) 22.00 a month
Vozo (Lipsync animation) 37.00 a month
Kling AI (Animation) 32.56 a month
Leonardo AI (Animation and upscaling) 30.00 a month
This makes an average cost of $181.24 a month and roughly 45-50 dollars a video. I've been able to make 2 a week, but usually spend 3 to 4 days for each one. At this time, I'm 2 ahead of schedule. Story creation and basic image design is casually worked out throughout the entire week.
That's an average of 22 minutes of generated footage a month.
What's exciting is the numbers... in 5 to 6 months I could feasibly create a full length motion picture film in 5 to 6 months time for the cost of about $1200 dollars- and this can be accomplished by one person. This is one exciting aspect of AI technology. The complete democracy of filmmaking at it's height without investors or studio control. Feature film can become the sole expression of the artist as studio painting has been mostly for generations past. The work itself will determine the worth.
